BMAF IT Manager

Role Overview

Its purpose is to oversee, manage and provide leadership and direction on the BMAF’s IT strategy as well as functional delivery of IT Operations, though the IT team.

The role is appointed annually at the AGM and is a member of the BMAF Executive Team.

Anticipated Time Commitment:

3-4 hours per week on average (assuming the IT Team roles are filled)

Role Description: (this is indicative only)

  • IT strategy preparation, planning and delivery as agreed by the BMAF Executive.
  • Team management and oversight to ensure timely delivery and implementation.
  • External relationship management e.g. OpenTrack and other providers.
  • Production of reports, data and analysis both routine and on request on IT activities to the Executive Team.

Qualifications:

To be fully effective in this role it is envisaged that you will have:

  • Experience of operational management or leadership
  • Experience of developing a strategic vision, strategy documents and delivery plans (desirably in an IT environment)
  • Excellent team management skills
  • Excellent Communication skills (both verbally and written), including the ability to discuss complex IT matters with a range of stakeholders including those with limited IT knowledge.
  • Experience with using IT for sport (especially athletics) would be desirable.
  • Knowledge of OpenTrack or another competition management platform is also desirable.
