David Oxland (M70) ran a British Record of 2:33.32 seconds for 800m indoors at the VAC/EMAC championships at Lee Valley Stadium on Saturday 4th December to add to his record for the same distance outdoors achieved earlier this year.

David, who is the honorary treasurer of the BMAF, said he has been regularly training with the Notts AC masters sprint group, which helped him run a  fast last lap to hone nine tenths of a second off the nearly thirty year old record time.

This record now stands in addition to his two others earlier in the year, taking both the 800 metres and 1500 metres records in the V70 category.
